Fay Jones School Hosts Summer Design Camp
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Filled with curiosity and creativity, 10 students attended the Fay Jones School of Architecture summer design camp last month to learn about architecture, landscape architecture and interior design.
Partnership Gives Arkansas Delta Students College Design Experience
The Alex Foundation recently partnered with the University of Arkansas’ Fay Jones School of Architecture (FJSOA) to give students from the Arkansas Delta an educational summer learning experience. Students from Dermott High School and Lakeside Middle School (Lake Village) were provided an all-expense paid award to attend a summer design camp in Fayetteville on the UofA campus, June 11 – 14, 2013.
Local teachers honored at International Literacy Day event
First lady Ginger Beebe joined the Alex Foundation and the Arkansas Reading Association to celebrate International Literacy Day with book donations to schools, non-profit organizations and shelters in Little Rock and schools in the southeast Arkansas Delta. The event also honored Arkansas educators for international literacy achievements.

First Lady Ginger Beebe Distributes Books in Honor of International Literacy Day Friday
In honor of International Literacy Day, First Lady Ginger Beebe will help the Alex Foundation and Arkansas Reading Association distribute over 1,000 books to area schools and organizations this Friday (Sept. 7).
The Alex Foundation was established in 2010 after the passing of Alex Courtney. His family wanted to keep his memory alive through service to others. With this in mind, the family's first call to action was to create a scholarship endowment to help deserving low income students have access to academic scholarships.
